Are Discounts Killing Your Personal Training Business?

What’s on SALE?

A trainer messaged me, asking how much they should discount their services?

I replied and shared none if your selling your services

They didn’t reply after LOL

Here’s the thing, if your consistently building your personal training business based on the latest discount of the week or month, you will not build a profitable business.

You may get busy and make okay income, but you’ll be forever chasing your tail, as clients will think subconsciously that you operate based on discounts and you begin to be known as the discount trainer.

Avoid posting and promoting discounts in your marketing and shift to providing impeccable value.

Now this does depend on what your selling, your services are marketed different than how you sell an online course.

Take a quick study on the most successful brands: Apple, Lululemon, BMW, Virgin, all these brands don’t promote discounts, the perception is of high quality, not something that's on sale for the week...

How To Shift From Surviving To Thriving Mindset?

What is a mindset?  Your mindset is the sum of your knowledge, including beliefs and thoughts about the world and yourself in it.  It is your filter for the information you get in and put out.  So it determines how you receive and react information.  It’s often used for a specific part in your life, as in “the mindset of an entrepreneur” or “the growth mindset”. And having the right mindset for what you go for, is often the biggest factor.

Developing the right mindset is the way of learning something new and stripping out the most relevant information.  Then you develop the beliefs that are most helpful for where you want to go or how you want to be.  This belief-system is then your mindset.  You want to use your mindset to make a positive change.  That’s why your beliefs don’t necessarily have to reflect your current reality.  But the reality you believe in  should be possible.

If you...

We all know how important it is to have a strict schedule. It doesn’t matter in what niche you are in, but the schedule is everything. If you want to grow and succeed, you need to have a plan for it!

Today I want to talk with you about one very common mistake personal trainers make. They all start booking their clients without a proper schedule or plan.  In most cases they throw clients in where ever their client can and then waste precious hours a day, thinking that this is the best approach as they don't want to loss their client.  You can’t go backward. You need to build first and book later. You need to make an ideal schedule to really maximize your time, freedom and energy.

Having the right schedule means knowing how to manage your time properly. This is a short list of actions you should take when you are creating a schedule:

#1 Save some time for planning; Focus time.

Focus time is the uninterrupted time where you can achieve a lot without...

Building Powerful Confidence

blog confidence power powerful Oct 18, 2018

Every athlete wants to play with confidence. Coaches want their players to exude confidence and play with intensity.

A confident athlete has been defined as “being able to be positive, motivated, intense, focused, and emotionally in control when they need to be (Taylor and Wilson, 2005). Athletes who think and behave this way remain confident even when they are not performing well. Martin Seligman, the father of Positive Psychology, believes that a positive mindset can be developed by following a series of specific steps.

Dr Seligman’s research in positive psychology seeks to discover the ways individuals who are optimistic, motivated, and resilient think. If you are an athlete who would like to be more confident, or if you are a coach and want to learn how to develop your team’s confidence, read on.

A confident athlete has the belief that he/she has what it takes to win. The athlete who lacks confidence quickly becomes negative in thinking and emotions....

Your Three Daily Goals

blog daily goals goals Sep 05, 2018

We are being conditioned to over consume, so what is the balance?  There is no perfect formula, but simplicity always wins.  Simplicity breeds results.

The greatest minds, inventor's and entrepreneurs executed this with precision.  When Tim Ferris writes a book, look at his calendar, you'll find minimal activities.  The innovation of Apple from Steve Jobs focused on providing the best products in the world, yet represent simplicity, sleek and a sexy appeal, that's easy to use.  Tom Brady is one of the best quarter backs to ever play football, he practices the basic's everyday, till the basics become flawless.

What does this all have to do with setting three daily goals?  Some day's three may even be too much, the key is to remain focused on creating quality around your outcomes and not bounce around like a bumblebee.  If your a busy entrepreneur wondering how is this possible, your three daily outcomes are the HIGHEST...

Lessons In Being A New Dad

Had a walk with my little girl recently and came back with many insights that started to flood  me around things I've learned in being a new dad.  Normally I'm sharing business, mindset or performance strategies, but this time I'm going personal.

Time to dive in.....

Lesson One - Business taught me allot over the years and still does, but NOTHING like being a father.  First lesson is around COMMITMENT.  I know what its like committing to starting a new business, pushing through challenges and setbacks, but the first two days I got home from the hospital, I was a mess, I broke down emotionally, it was the biggest shock to my system in my life.  I've never been in a situation where I had no choice, but to commit, I felt like all my free time was gone, I felt like how could I take care of a new human being when I'm trying to take of me and my business....I was on the edge of the bed with Genevieve when this started, it was like God hit me over the head...

Increase Your Clients

There was a time when I couldn't get a client or worse yet sell a client, if my life depended on it.  Have you felt like this before?

I'm from a farm, wasn't taught sales training growing up, so learned early on, read books, took courses and then learned the old school way from building multiple companies and being in the trenches.

Now years later, I LOVE jumping on or going into a sales presentation with a client, its one of my favourite things to do!

You looking to get your first client or increase the clients you already have?  Are you looking to INCREASE your closing rate?

Whichever capacity it may be, below I'm going to share some gold gems that work!

1.  Don't try so hard! When you want to close, focus on value and how you can solve the problem your client came to you for.  FOCUS on this, over just getting there money.  When you provide value, everyone WINS!

2.  Don't talk to much! Ask more quality directed questions and quit trying to coach the...

Setting Personal Boundaries and Recharging Our Batteries

With the weekend approaching, we typically look to find way's to recharge our batteries, but how often do you ACTUALLY succeed at fulfilling this outcome?  Many times we mix so called 'recharging' our batteries, with surfing on our phones for a few hours, watching hours of TV or playing a few hours of video games.  This is what we call recharging, by way of numbing ourselves for a temporary so called 'feel good' or 'escape' from reality, then to wake up the next day still tired?

Maybe you live in a busy household, have a few kids, a few dogs or live in a small confined space that does't give you much space, so your constantly feeling trapped, not having enough personal space or time to feel like you are recharging.   First step is 'accept ownership and responsibility' of your current situation, many times we look to point blame to others, the house, our kids, our work schedule, its all areas YOU have the control in, but to take control, first comes accepting...
